Hard Labor at Larkspur Landing?

At point San Quentin, looking to Larkspur Landing, I got an odd notion wondering if big rocks were pounded into smaller rocks by prisoners in the past.

Larkspur Landing shore

Lets not be prisoners of the past and make the rest of the shoreline accessable the other direction past the prison.

The rain returned to Marin , but for those that call Marin home we know that the March showers keep can keep the hills green and flowering a bit longer.

This one was taken in the Corte Madera Town Park. The soccer fields are still closed for winter.

Well thats a new one! I guess that someone hit the fire hydrant and sent it rocketing almost to Larkspur? Not that far but I wouldn't have wanted it to land on me!

Larkspur view of Mt Tamalpais

Sometimes I forget to take pictures of the daily sites. I snapped this picture of Mt Tam as I was waiting in the parking lot during my daughter's gymnastic lesson at Pyramid Gym in Corte Madera.

This vantage point can provide some spectacular views of Mt Tam in mornings and sunset walks but the Mt Tams graceful presense is always there, its like our own marin Totem.

You can see the homes backing up to the natural areas, both in the foreground and up the hill.

Ducks Bobbing at Bay

Well there are ducks everywhere in Marin. Every little drainage canal draining the creeks through the neighborhoods built on filled wetlands allows our kids to see various ducks, egrets, sand pipers and more often literaly in our back yards. This picture is just a texture shot of the bay.

ducks on san francisco bay

The colors and textures of the San Francisco bay are an everlasting joy of mine. One of the reasons I settled in Marin County was the easy access to the variety of sheens and colors one counters in their daily wandering in almost every town from Sausilito to Novato, and of course West Marin has its own special sites with it's proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
